The setting has effected the plot quite a lot actually. If Sarah lived in Great Britin she would not be running for her life, instead she may be trying to figure out how to afford the things she needeed. Both her brother and father may even still be alive. If it took place in lets say farther west, her father and brother could still be dead but she would already know how to live on her own. She would also have done nothing wrong in order to make the law come after her. There are probably even more posabilities that I haven't even thought about, but the setting does affect the plot more than some would think.
Kailee, I agree with you. I agree with you on a few things. First, if she lived someware else like you said, she would not be running for her life. She could have maybe had money to afford what she needed. I also agree with you on one more thing. I agree with you when you talked about Sarah and her famiy liveing farther west. It makes a lot of sence. I mean she would not have not been arested! So, that is why I agree with you.
The setting of the story affected the plot for a lot of reasons. If Sarah did go try to find her brother she wouldn't be try to not get caught by the British soldiers. Sarah wouldn't be staying in a cave either. Sarah would be different if her dad wouldn't of die because Sarah wouldn't be in the cave. Sarah would have did something to make the British soldiers to follow her. Sarah live would be so different. Clearly, if Sarah don't break a law she would be running.
I agree with you Carmen, but she didnt break the law at first, Sarah just was looking for her brother, the only family member she had left. But you are right, if Sarah didnt jump off that ship, she would not be running for her life and living in a cave. Maybe if Sarah didnt just off that ship though she might have gotten killed.
The setting of the story affected the plot in a way. First, if Sarah lived someware else, she would not have lot as much. She probably would still be liveing with her family. Second, things could be different if she hadn't have lived on a farm. She would not be living in a cave (most likely). She might still have had her family too. Lastly, if the time period was different, then her family would not be dead and things might have been a little easier.
I agree with you Allison. The setting has a major effect on this story. The war and where Sarah lives is what causes so much of her trouble. If there was no war, or if Sarah hadn't lived so close to the war, there probably wouldn't even be a story.
The setting affected the plot in this way. If Sarah and her family didn't live in Great Britain, her father most likely would not have been a loyalist, and would not have torn up that book thing, and would have not got tared and feathered, and would still be alive. And not to mention Sarah's brother would not have joined the army against King George III, and he would still be alive. So, this all leads down to Them Living in Great Britain. Thats how the setting affects the plot.
Chloe I think you are completely right. If her family did not do those few simple things they may still be alive. What would have happened if her family was patriot? May be the story would be completely different rather than what it is now.
The setting affected the plot in many ways. First, if Sarah lived somewhere else. If she didn't live in Great Britain she might not have lost as much. Sarah might be living with her family and they might not have died. Second, things might have been different if she hadn't lived on a farm. She might still of had her family and might not be living in a cave. Lastly, if she had not went looking for her brother. She might not have gotten caught by the British soldiers. Clearly the setting affects the plot in a couple different ways.
Becca is this a typo or am I missing something? I thought she lived in the colonists because of the open wilderness, Indians, and the rebellion against the king. Please clarify someone! Other than that Becca I think you absolutely right.
5. The setting has everything to do with the plot of this story. The setting is taking place during the Revolutionary War and it is taking place in New York. Because of the war, Sarah has lost her father and brother. Because she lived in New York, which is at the heart of the war, Sarah has been forced to flee and make a way on her own. Now the story is focused on her survival in the wildnerness, and that setting is effecting everything Sarah does.

ReplyDeleteHayden,
DeleteYou are so right, I wouldn't have thought of that at all, you made some really good points
